  10. Mark Willis brings a unique blend of talents and experience to his artwork.  Working primarily in digital 
  11. media, Mark has been involved with computers and digital art for almost twenty years, making him one of 
  12. the pioneers of computer art. 
  13.  
  14. As a youth, he became proficient in drawing and illustration as well as photography and image 
  15. manipulation using classical darkroom techniques, publishing several works commercially while still in 
  16. high school.

  18. Mark attended Oklahoma City University in the 70's to study traditional art techniques in painting and 
  19. illustration. After his university experience, he became fascinated by the then infant field of computer 
  20. graphics and went on to publish one of the first books on three dimensional graphics for personal 
  21. computers, 3D COMPUTER GRAPHICS (Entelek, 1983, ISBN 87567-041-5).

  23. The lure of steady income sidetracked Mark into a lucrative career as a software developer in the 80's but 
  24. the advent of powerful personal computers in the 90's led Mark to return to his exploration of digital art.  
  25. The ability to finance his hardware and software purchases from software income gave him great freedom 
  26. to explore digital imagery from a purely artistic perspective without the constant pressures of commercial 
  27. demands.

  29. Mark's style and subject matter are extremely varied.  His works include classical still lifes, abstracts, 
  30. figure studies, science fiction, fantasy, horror, illustration, humor, southwestern, and children's scenes.

  32. In 1995, Mark established the "Wire Frame Studio" site on the World Wide Web.  This combination art 
  33. gallery and digital art school has attracted thousands of visitors from around the world and has won many

  37. Today Mark currently resides in Atlanta and continues to produce images on the leading edge of computer 
  38. art. He uses a wide array of programs including Imagine, 3D Studio, PhotoShop, CorelDRAW, FreeHand 
  39. 7 Studio, Bryce 2, POV-RAY, Ray Dream Designer, Fractal Design Painter, Detailer, Poser, Martin Hash 
  40. 3D Animation, Kai Power Tools, 4D Vision Sculpture, and his own custom art software.
